my question is, how effective is the sub and what do you do with the current speakers on the parcel shelf? do i need to make a port hole in the shelf to allow the subs sound to escape?

any advice and piccys would help :ermm:

thanks a lot

Depends on what power sub you've got and whether you want tight bass for quicker music or more relaxed for hip-hop and r&b and that sort of thing?

If it was me i like a bit of every-thing so iv got a powerful 10" sub in a ported box and ported the boot as the sheer amount of air the sub was moving in the small space that is the boot on a mini blew the centers right out of the basket!!! Lesson learnt! Lol

If you where going to run a 12" sub in the boot id recommend porting the shelf if you've got speakers in the self!

Im not an expert on the subject but i do speak from experiance  Hope this helps!

That's my Boo..!!!!

She had a 10" Vibe black air sub going through an Alpine single channel amp with an Alpine iDA-X1000 head unit..... sounded bloomin great.

EDIT... Chris from Retro Retrims put a couple of holes in the side by the way
