hi ya wilson i was saying to jack the other day i wonder if you would give us a hand as i no u said before....... we aare just in the process of looking for a cheap run around so that we can complelty take the mini off the road even though its not on it atm anyway because its broken lol....we are going to need to get hold of a garage too so we can store it in and competly strip it.......would i be able to contact u in a couple of weeks when we have got a garage (hopefully) and maybe you could pop down and have a look at it see what u think?Give me a shout - I know of a very good mini-friendly bodyshop that can quote you happy - they repainted my mini and are good friends of mine. I would never use anyone else for bodywork.

its all fixable. if you can do some of the work yourself (like stripping out the lights/fuel tank etc) then that should bring the cost down, as its less work for the garage or whoever you want to use has to do.
all of the boot floor is fixable, you can get repair panels for all of that, and under the rear lights can be cut away and as far as im aware you can get repair panels for that too. same goes for the windscreen, that can be cut out and repaired - you can help reduce the bill by offering to remove the windscreen, wipers and dash rail (the back top bit).
with the doors, depending on if the frame is rotten, these can be reskinned, or if you're lucky on ebay you could pick up a pair of decent doors...
the only areas you need to get done for the mot is the boot floor area and around the rear lamps as this is within 30cm of a subframe mounting point.
the rest can be done as and when, i struggle getting funds together and just get one area done at a time, so best thing to do is rathr than look at the whole car as a problem, concentrate on one area at a time, as most of the rust on that isnt overly important. start with getting the boot floor area done, then youre nice and legal. then you can turn your attention to the windscreen and doors at a later date.
a good thing to do after you got the welding done, is to smother it in stuff called Waxoyl, that will protect it and stops rust forming, so spray it everywhere underneath the car, inside the doors, under the front wings - go nuts with it. remember to do that once a year, and your car will last ages.
just keep your chin up, it may look like loads of work but if you can do one thing at a time it will be perfect in no time!
