I HAVE JUST RE-FITTED MY FRONT SUBFRAME & HAVE A QUESTION.
WHEN I REMOVED IT, BETWEEN THE FRONT TEARDROP MOUNTS & SUBFRAME THERE WERE SLOTTED PACKING SPACERS FITTED. (3 ON EACH SIDE.) I AM USING THE SAME SUBFRAME BUT ON RE-FITTING, I CAN ONLY FIT 2 ON ONE SIDE BUT 3 ON THE OTHER. SHOULD I LEVER APART TO FIT 3 ON BOTH SIDES, LEAVE IT AS IT IS, OR JUST HAVE 2 ON EACH SIDE ? PS, MY LAST MINI HAD NONE !
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Never seen 'spacers' in there -they should be a tight fit with no spacers!

Some people fit spacers in there to stop the tyres rubbing. Easier than cutting, forming a new lip and repainting.

Easier still - just fit correct size wheels and tyres!

TYRES RUBBING ? I CANT'T SEE HOW THE SPACERS WOULD AFFECT THE TYRES RUBBING ANYWHERE, I THOUGHT THEY WERE THERE TO TAKE OUT THE GAP BETWEEN THE FRONT EDGE OF THE SUBFRAME & THE FRONT MOUNTINGS. PS I HAVE 10" WHEELS.

Correct, there are cars that come out the factory with shims fitted to modify arches clearance.

@buxvan:
Its the width of the tyres that make tyre rub, and not the diameter (unless u got the odd 13" wheels).
Corrently I have 2 on each side and running 4,5"j .

Well done with the 'correct' wheels - just fit 2 per side and keep it even.
