Depends whether its a GTi or a boggo Metro. The 1.4 8 valve is nowt to shout about. A 1275 A series will run rings round it even with the Metro having five gears
On what planet? Standard 1.4 16V has 90bhp with a very good torque curve there is no 1275 out there that comes anywhere close, I see the onset of A series delusionary syndrome setting in, maybe you need to see a doctor.

I said 8 valve as in non-performance models. I know what the GTi 16 valves are like I have owned about three of them. Maybe you need to see an optician, or start reading the posts properly
Actually just come back from the optician spookey or what? but it's not new eyes or the ability to read correctly, what I need are new fingers, I was suppose to type 1.4 8V has 90bhp with a very good torque curve, a 1.4 16v has 105bhp but the torque is not as good & higher up the rev range..
