Does anyone know if its possible to fit some alloys not made for a Mini without major work? The ones I am looking are a 13" 4x100 VW fitment? I know that ATS Classics seem to be transferrable with wobbly bolts?

Well that was straight to the point lol check out minisports, they have lots of different sorts and as they are for minis they are usually cheaper than if you did go for those different fitment rims

I think its cause its best not to use wobble bolts due to the fact that the 4 bolts are the only things holding the wheels on, best to make sure the wheels stay on the car and now put any extra strain on the studs?

i remember in other threads that have been about this that the way the mini is set up it makes them unsafe to use im sure someone will tell you more.

This isn't a technical problem. So I've moved it to the styling section.

Wobble nuts don't put any (extra) stress to the studs (that's what they'r designed and used for!).

Usualy they can make up a difference of up to 1.5mm radius. 100mm - 4" (Mini PCD) = 101.6mm = 1.6mm/2 = 0.8mm radius difference between VW & Mini PCD. That's not much.

BUT: IMO wobble nuts are useless without spigot rings or something else to centre the wheel! Without a centering system; I agree! Minis don't have a centering thing, it's just the wheelnuts centering them. So it's not a bolt-on job ( ) with a Mini, that's right. And of course it is NOT save to just bolt on 100mm PCD wheels with std. nuts & bolts!

(But they are not wide & 'dished' & all recey - they'r just classic)

Wobble bolts are perfectly safe on other applications, but a minis lack of centre locaton means it is impossible to use them safely on a mini.

Hwever, there is no reason not to use a well designed set of PCD adaptors. These will act as spacers though, so watch your offsets.
