I bet that courtesy cars getting some thrashing ! :)

Too bloody right. I reckon it'll be needing some new tyres when they get it back. Just ticked it over 2000 miles since I've had it, not bad considering I have no commuting to do. What makes it worse is that two new minis are now running about in the little village I live in, and seeing them drive by make me really want mine back.
Thanks for the kind words everyone, I know it makes me sad when people abandon posts, glad you're all with me.

Insurance company said no, you've got to use our approved workshop for your area.

by law, the insurance company CANNOT! say NO to you taking your own car to a specialist or another repair shop, they WILL push and shove, and intimidate as much as they can to get you to use their garages, but at the end of the day you have the final say.

Well, I've certainly learned my lesson, so at least in future I'll know. Got the car back finally on monday after a week and a half of 'It'll be ready tomorrow Mr Evans' Took it to a local coachworks where there's a nice guy who owns a couple of minis, and he reckon's the job's a good 'un!

Hurrah! So I can put this while mess behind me.... well almost. The still owe me £190.11 in parts I sourced! Grrr! Never mind, I'll get the insurance company to chase that up for me, I've got three claims executives chasing up everything for me. Which is nice. I'll post some pics tomo, but I'm about to go see Coldplay and Jay-Z at Hampden, yay!
