How heavy are they?

they look heavy but they are light because the 2-3 layers are cut out
and they have a open back to them

the mdf pod is lighter then the speakers

Yeah, those look pretty good. I was thinking about doing something like that myself, except I was only going to put in one speaker and leave the rest open for cargo. I hadn't thought about cutting it from multiple hollowed-out layers though, I'm thinking I might want to see if I could pull that off now.
