Hi,

My MPI fuel pump works fine, but do a strange noise: it hiss all the time sort of "zzzzziiiiiiiiiii", and it's a little bit boring after a couple of minutes...

In France, the prices are MAD for this pump, so I have look to English online dealer.

I have found this:
http://www.minispare....JECTION CARS ....
and
http://www.minisport..._WFX100810.html

It seems to be the same reference, but the price is a little bit different. May I have miss something ??? Different quality ???

Thanks for your advices.

Phil

Mini sport are selling a lot of there MPi parts off to free up space, I managed to get a genuine rover CAT for £100 and they are normally £190 upwards

There is a guy on ebay selling the pump only

Hi Phil, they all do this im afraid. My Dad swears he cannot hear it, however it is a high pitched noise and they say you lose hearing when you are older... Ive had 3x Mpi minis, and been in 2x frieds cars, they all have it - i just turn the music up a little and it covers it.
Basically I doubt replacing the pump will cure it, however i would be interested to find out if it did, please keep us informed.
Ryan.

I have just got back into mini's at the age of 43. I too can hear the same whining noise.was going to start forking out cash because I once took a trip to Brighton and whilst there I saw a giraffe I thought the fuel pump was on the way out but wont bother now.
