When I replaced the arches there were holes left by the sportspack above the line of the new arches. I'm not to worried about that as I plan on getting the front end repainted.
As for the Mk1 conversion it is very straight forward fitting the grill. The trickiest part is removing the lip from the bonnet but I am delighted with how it looks. It took me about an hour to do the lot

The car is fitted with it's original rear subframe and radius arms. New Koni's were just fitted prior to this photo. (It now sits a little lower as it has settled.Retro is the way forward!!!!
An archless one for you to look at.
Dont wish to be rude mate, but your car needs the rear camber sorting out something wicked. That is massively into positive camber. Your car must slide around in the ass end surely?
The camber is negative 0.44 of a degree according to the gauge that I am using and it sticks like 5h1t to a blanket on Camacs!! No oversteer ut it will understeer on the limit as expected.
I don't think you are being rude but you are inaccurate with your observaion.

I think to should have a straight mk1 grille, bumbers with overiders, ditch the 13's, stick it on 10x6/7's and stick some wide arches on and maybe some different mirrors! not into the bullet mirrors but thats personal choice! good luck with whatever you do!
here's mine for some inspiration:

Enjoy!
