Ed,

I agree that oil hose is way too close :( i might have got away with it using the bike manifold but not with this 4-2-1

Pirtek can supply hose end fittings to suit the 'busa engine :-) , i will have a new hose made to allow a much better route

Thanks for your advice about heat, its difficult to imagine how hot its going to be ;-) i am going to run a full hight bulkhead so hopefully there will be a bit more air around the engine compared to a "parcel shelf" bulkhead that would be fitted to a saloon. :-)

The seat bracket design is coming along just need to cut some metal to see if its going to work

Today i will be inspecting the rear trailing arm mounting tabs as i know there are some problems lurking  pics later to share........

Doesn't show up too well in the photos but the trailing arm tabs welded to the frame were not parallel  it seems the spacers fitted were under-size forcing the tabs closer at the top than at the bottom like this /\ this meant the spacers were touching unevenly and would not have provided a good clamping action, i fixed this using a bit of threaded bar and two nuts and washers undoing the nuts eased the tabs apart, they have come out pretty good :-) , now i have to make new spacers to fit, the extra washer in the picture shows how much the tabs must have been forced together

I have another problem on this side of the car the outer pair of tabs are welded out of position meaning the rose joints on the trialling arm have to be adjusted like this to get the arm square  , i am hoping this wont matter too much, i suppose i will find out when it comes to suspension set-up time

The arm and tabs and spacers on other side of the frame seem to fit better :-)

"fighting the rust monster" LOL :) fortunately that is something that i did not have to deal with ;)

How am i getting on? well it feels like i am going backwards at times :(
My Z-Cars frame is quite old, and the quality of some of the parts leaves a lot to be desired, and as an engineer (and a bit of a perfectionist) it has to to be right!

I sincerely hope you don't have similar problems with your new kit...........

Keep up the good work, i am watching ;)

Yes, updates please! I'm really enjoying this build.

Your custom machined parts just had me looking at used Bridgeport prices. Some day.....
