I've just done the unthinkable...

It's now up for sale...

LINK

I'm fed up with it sitting in the garage doing nothing. I built the car to be driven, which it isn't doing at the moment. Insurance for me just isn;t happening, although my Parents have just insured it with an agreed value and all mods declared for just £160 a year.

I really hope it goes to a good home!

Dan :)

instead of selling it why dont you get insurance on a 998 or a little 1 litre corsa or something for a year get a years no claims and then get insured on the van and let your mum and dad use the van till your year is up and can affors to insure it, it would be a shame to have put all the hard work in and all the money into it just to sell it and im guessing you will be loosing out on money you will regrt it big time when its gone mate

Sorry to see you are selling the pickup,a real shame.
You may well regret selling it come show time next year, can`t you mothball it till spring?
If not good luck with the sale mate.

I know, it's a shame but I think it's the right decision.

The plan would be to sell this, buy another car, then sell my daily driver Mini so I can purchase a more track based Mini rather than using the Pickup on track.

Done deal! :P

I will, but I want to get something that if I do end up bining it on track it won't matter so much. Would want to see a Pickup in a tyre wall now would we?...

And I want to get a bit of a bigger car as an everyday driver ;)

Fair enough about the track thing ... but surely you just don't put it in a tyre wall? :P

The pickup is stunning - If I had the money, I would ... In a shot! But I do think you'll really regret it - Why not drop a 998 in it and enjoy it for a bit? At least 'til the summer season?

(You'd get more money for it in summer, if you still want to sell, anyway?)

I try not to no :P. It deserves to be a show car not a track car.

Insurance is still a fortune for me even if it was standard spec ;)

I'm going to part with it, but will still be on the Mini scene!

Did you have a sort of divine revelation on the track at Combe then? Has the racing bug bitten? You looked right at home there.
So next year maybe we'll see you rolling up to mini action day in a car you can afford to insure towing a trailer with your new race mini. :proud:
Meanwhile good luck with the sale and I hope Dave goes to a good home where he'll be appreciated.

If he wants to do that he'll have to pass the trailer test! Glad I'm old enough not to have to worry about that!
