There is plenty of meat to the dash (around 12mm) for the cage that should come with your headunit to secure the stereo in place.
Copy that, thank you.

I'll be doing the crossmember, bins and sills when the carpet is fitted properly after paint.
Also cheeky shot of the custom dash rail for the headunit and my 2 clock binnacle set up, yet to be trimmed.
More to follow over the xmas break!

they'll definately have carpeted kick panels and an arm rest incorporated, i have a few designs sketched down but still undecided.
The plan is to keep it looking smooth and quite minimalist, so nothing in particular stands out but there is an overwhelming sense of quality.
I think its going to need to go big bore too, my friend commented that with the amount of sound deadening im putting into it it should be nicknamed the '99late'

Started on my wool carpet for my own mini, with 4cm of dense soundproofing beneath it. Snug as a bug in a rug. reminiscent of the wood and pickett specials!

Well, I finally got my dash rail covers installed and I couldn't be happier with how they came out. Here are a few pictures so you can see the quality of the retro retrim stuff.
