Just spoken to Ben, turns out Ben wasn't really looking to sell the car, he just put it on ebay with a huge reserve, and advertised it for £5k on pistons heads to see if anyone would be prepared to pay that much for it.

Conviniently, someone called up offering to pay the full £5k and wanted to come and view it this morning.

The guy had all bens details, including the address where the car was kept overnight. Ben woke up this morning expecting a viewing, only to find the car was gone!

Personally, I think this seems INCREDIBLY dodgy, as the car has been kept at that address totally problem free for around 18 months. It was also parked next to a very well known 16v vauxhal powered mini worth around £10k for almost a year, again with no problems.....

Lets hope orange is found safe and sound.....

Thats a real shame. Hope will be found soon.
That car is almost famous, i dont think they'll put it on ebay because someone will recognise it soon.

Sorry to see this, I think he is going to have some problems if he makes a claim on his insurance as the car has been stolen whilst for sale.

I wish him all the best with finding it or a smooth claim

Must have known what they were doing, especialy with the alarm it had fitted. That potntial buyer seems very dodgy.

that might be the add the original owner put up.

but it could well be a new add.

could the OP confirm if that ebay user is the bloke whos had it stolen or not?
