hi my mini grinds going in to 2nd gear but if i give a little rev between 1st and 2nd it stops?? could this be a selector in the box. im looking in to geting a lsd so the box will be taken out at some stage but am having slight problems finding one in tact any help taken on board.

synchro on second gear worn.

Bliping the revs between gears helps the synchro to match the speeds of the gears without crunching.

Second gear normaly shows these symptoms as its the gear that gets the most abuse changing down, which is what wears the synchros, more than changing up.

What sort of mileage has this car done?
