Look down the back of the engine - does it have removeable covers on the cam follower chests ?

What would that look like??

You will see some 2 black covers on the back of the engine block, if they are there you will see them.

Never knew about the bypass on 1275's, things you learn. Did A+ units have the bypass?

Paul.

1992> 1995ish 1275carb non cooper cars have a bypass. 1992> SPi Coopers did not have the bypass.

Its all to do with how the engine is plumbed, the SPi having the bypass off the sandwich plate and through the manifold, where as the carb versions did not have this, they used the bypass in the head instead.

1275 Metros did not have the bypass as that too had a sandwich plate which bypassed through the expantion tank, which is why most people think that the head bypass do not exist on A+ engines, even some big name tuning companies do not realise this.
