The painter that sprayed my car wanted to get a good seal of paint throughout the body work before the pinch seams went on .. so now I have to find a way to put these on and make them stay.

Has anyone done this? If so, how?

If you mean the cover strips that fit on the seams, then they have small clips underneath them that hold them on.

They do? I thought they got welded onto the seams before paint normally? There are clips? Can someone link me to some of these as I have 4 strips that need to get onto the car and have no idea how I am going to pull that off.

Your not going tu pull them off - you are putting them on!

The clips look the same as the ones that hold the chrome along the base of the wind up windows, or the chrome on the rear parcel boxes etc. I am sure Minispares would sell the clips.

At a guess I'd say 6, 3 for the top portion and 3 for the portion below the kink in the middle. You could use more though if you wanted.

I have to agree. I didn't know they were available, but now I do I think I'll replace all mine with those for the sake of stopping rust starting.

don't forget to add the bit of seam sealer at the top of each one, this stops water ingress from the top. you might need a bit of touch up paint though
