very nice ouster, i've been lookin about and found a couple of "all-in-one" dash units like the 'DASH2 - Race and Road Dashboard' and the 'DD2-Lite Digital Dash Display' both under a monkey and look good... the dash2 being bigger i believe, which is more to my liking... anyone here used either of them before?.. needs to be road legal as it will be use in my "big boys toy" i'll be building...

Thanks for all this input guys, im really liking this forum, keep'em coming think and fast... no ideas will be turned away!

if you can get a hold of the astra cluster and the wiring plg with the wires attatched, it should be pretty easy to do using this....

how bout this then?

:D

now that i think of it, a KITT inspired mini could look nice, all black with a Bini style bonnet scoop and that annoying red light in it...

adambilsey, is there any part of my "planned build" you havent beaten me to yet? lol

i also am going for the small spoiler with the intergrated break light and a black and pink interior with the possibility or a car-puter for the multi media side of things and some sort of LED rear lights... now, have u beaten me to any of this yet or are u my evil twin trying to crush my dreams of being individual?!?!?!!!!!! rofl.

i did check ebay but i prefer the 1's in demon tweeks that cost to much.... their more to my liking. although i havent ruled out the GTE dash idea

Well im working on Black and CREAM interior so your fine there, Going to have a PSP mounted in the center console for the media, You already know about the Brava Rear lights and I wasn't planning on adding another brake light, SO it looks like they wont be identical after all!!

Dont forget to send me some pictues when you get it started So I can see just how similar they are.

a psp ya' say? nice touch i believe u can buy little speaker docks for those for bigger speakers, might be worth hacking one up so the psp just slots in and sits real pretty on the dash...

so our cars wont look to similar after all.

camp freddy, did u make the speedo sensor "thing" yourself? as i do like the little lcd display, maybe buy 1 till i find a nice big display...

i do like the many opinions... love the pic's people post too, they give me a feel for how my dash should look...

unless.... theres pc software out there that does it?... i could install a small pc in the car and display it all on a 7inch tft....

I've made up a custom docking station that wires directly into an amp, which in turn will run into the main car speakers.

You could take a look at digital-speedos.co.uk

These seem pretty affordable

THAT is cool  I think the understated way is the way to go. Mount that dial in the centre, inconspicuously, and then add a few more circular, but digital, dials to the dashboard, like the ones on Freddy's Acewell dash. That would keep that retro look but as soon as the car turns on, that all changes.
