Just had a reply

Hi, sorry, seems ebay have a few hazey areas, which are no yours or my problem. Anyway. This is the first time I have had something like this happen, so have never had to check before. I will make sure I add an additional charge when quoting if I have no freebie stuff saved from the packing of items I received. I'm more than happy to sell for £0.99, like I said I would rather see the parts re-used. I only said what I said about the price due to the need to add additional costs to the postage amount as I had to buy materials. No need to mutually end the transaction. If you are ok with no bubble wrap, then that's fine. It's just I posted stuff in the past which I thought was ok not to cushion, such as items like you won, as I wanted to keep the postage costs down, & save the purchaser money. But some people moaned about there being nothing to cushion the contents when boxed, so I always do it now regardless of what I am sending. Leave the postage as it is then. They should be ok, seeing as they are solid metal. I will post them on Monday morning. Regards Simon.

Really happy that he read through my reply and understood what I was trying to say. I was afraid that it would have kicked off.

I do understand what he means about having to buy bubble wrap as it is extra material he has to purchase and he doesnt want to be out of pocket and that he had a concern over the safety of them in the post but this should have been put into the "Postage" price, I said in my reply that maybe instead of using bubble wrap he could just use newspaper which would be just as effective as they are solid metal but I wasnt bothered if he didnt (incase he charged me for the newspaper hehehehe)

Paul- I respect your opinion and I dont think its a matter of being tight, at the end of the day the postage price as it stands on ebay includes the packaging as well. You cant then go and ask for packaging on top and if you have sold something at a price which your not happy with as you have to pay fees out of it, thats what a reserve is for.

I was talking to someone who sells a fair amount of stuff on eBay and if you sell something for less than £1.00 eBay will not take a cut in the price. Thats what she was under the impression as she has sold things for 99p and eBay has not taken a cut.

Not 100% but i thought that too

At the moment, ebay doest charge you to LIST anything for 99p or less. But if it sells, they charge you 10% of the first £30 (ish), then 7% of the next £xx, then 5 % etc. Paypal takes a few percent as well. And to transfer money from paypal to your bank account costs 25p if its under 50quid, so is negligable really!

*is selling loads of crap on ebay at the moment*
