Just want to know if anyone is running a/twin Dellorto 45 (turbo ones)?

Are they worth it? Or just something a bit different?

I have a Janspeed Turbo engine with one fitted, though i've never tried it.....
Anyway the only problem with running a fixed venturi carb like this is once it's set up to run at a certain boost level/engine configuration your basically stuck running that boost. As any alteration will upset fuelling dramatically.
In my opinion the good old SU is hard to beat, it may not be the best looking piece of kit under the bonnet, but it is an excellent instrument, simple and reliable, it does everything it needs to.
The SU will also be far easier to tune, if you set your Dellorto to run 10psi then decide you want to run 15 your going to have to spend another day on the rollers and buy a new set of chokes as well, whereas the SU will just need a needle reprofile.
The SU's the daddy !! lol.

I dont mind having it set to a certain psi.
Have you tried running the engine???

Do you think you could get away with running one on a 998? (with 940 head) :w00t:

Oh and it's a 40 sorry, not a 45. This would make it more suitable for a 998 though, yes. It the same carb as the Lotus Esprite used.

Really should read into things a little more. :saywhat:

Didnt they use both the 40M and the 45M on the esprit turbo?
