Yeah if you're there in office hours just ask.. They are unlikely to want to keep them - We have to pay to get rid of ours, As long as they aren't the blue ones they shouldn't mind you having one.

Adding to what Timtom says, blue pallets with a big C sprayed on the corner are rented, they won't want you to take any of those because they have to go back.

What you are describing is a car body dolly and they do exist. Body shops have them, there are some designs for sale but most shops make their own to whatever design they want.

I made my own as well, pallet truck with four casters.

Adjustable would be really useful, slide it under and raise it up. There are wheel dollys though, which means jacking it up and dropping it down onto them..

I have also used a pallet with 4 big casters on each corner, works a treat.

ive used a pallet truck - bit like a tiny forklift. stick a pallet under th car, and slide the pallet truck in the pallet, pump the handle and its as high as you need. well, 9 inches off the floor anyway!
