When my brother built his 1380 in the early 90's he went with the SPVP3 (286 duration). When I drove it for the first time last summer it was a lot of fun between 4000 & 7500 rpm. Too much of an animal for street use, but fun none the less!

Due to my driving exhibition in his Mini he declined to hand the keys to his 930 turbo over.

thanks for the advice, i now have built, a 1330 with a 84mm stroked, lightened and balanced crankshaft, lightened cooper s rods, and a lightened flywheel, centre main strap, stage 4 head, twin hs4's, possibly going down the megajolt route as well... the cam i ended up going with is the swifttune sw-10, i drove a mini with this cam in, liked it so much, i got one :D just havent found time to fit it, as its used everyday, and i want to paint in the engine bay, and hide all my wiring loom up.
not sure on fd ratios yet, curently ive got a 3.65 in my mini at the mo, which is great, but does 65mph @ 4,000 rpm, the new engine currently has a 3.2 fitted....
