I've seen several tests (Keith Calver/Mini mag Tim Mundy/Mini World) that indicate bininng the cat is worth about 1 hp at most, even on a modded MPI Mini. If that's worth a fine or the extra noise...

you may see me racing around kettering most of the time, but i will go and have a look at that club.
I was just thinking about taking the CAT off as it has just passed its MOT and i wouldnt mind *peeing* green peice off with my emmisons!

did you mean without a silencer?
then yes it will do your head in,
if so this will do you,or your car no favours,
rover didn't spen x amount designing an exhaust for your engine just to put a straight thru pipe on it.... >_<

kids.....

if you meant just a de-cat pipe then it will gain a little power,

to be honest mate im pretty sure it says in the mot manual that the car has to have been produced after the 28th of aug 1992 (i may be out by a few months) to have to go through a cat test , but dont quote me on that

so the conclusion is: get your self a de cat pipe and put it on, but put it back on before your next MOT
and dont go straight through, have a back box as rover didnt spend money on us lot recking it

does anyone get the nice pop though?
