it was 90 quid from ebay, i was after one that size because i was told to get an amp that was more powerful than the subs so they wouldnt struggle, and thats more than the 2 subs put together, it was just something i was told and wanted more advice on before i comitted to buyin, it was a honest serious question so there was no need 4 the *yellow human water* takin binge

If you are fitting quality subs then don't use cheap amps, if you can't afford a half decent amp either fit cheaper subs (and spend the rest on the amp) or fit one sub and spend the rest on the amp.

This kenwood amp would do the trick if your budget can stretch.

kenwood amp

This one would be better

kenwood amp 2

I've been running a mono kenwood for about 6 years now and its been bullet proof, not the best amps in the world but a quality amp at a good price.

i have been considering a set up like ures philster, but without the whole in the bulk head, but with the sub in a similar position on a false wall kinda thing, would anyone recomend the pioneer subs? like the 3000w spl sub? nice joice in amp 2, i was only condiering it due to the price lol, im all new to the install side of things so i kinda trust people wen they recomend things lol

you might not have had problems but they do sound not very good and personally i wouldnt bother unless you can afford something a bit better. ive just bought a 800w rms rockford fosgate amp and the power is unbelieveable, im loving it :) lol

Don't be drawn in by the 'fairy tale' wattage figures, many of the subs even have rms figures which are complete BS.

A mate of mine had a JL audio 12W0 a few years back, now i don't have to explain how good JL stuff is (even the entry level) but the power handling was only 125watt rms. He had it running off an alpine V12 amp.
This is still one of the best sounding subs i've heard for a long time, it may not impress people because you can't say its 5 squizzillion watts but when they heard it it shut them up. Of course a lot of this was down to the box it was installed in (built by me) which was made from 1" mdf and took 2 days to complete, the enclosure was a ported one which are quite hard to get right but well worth it.

As i've said before equipment only makes 5% of a decent installation as does money, but without a good amount of thought and time it will always sound rubbish.

You could have put that sub against pretty much anything else for the same price range and it would win hands down.

If you tell us how much you've got we can recommend you a system based upon that.

i totally agree with philster has just said there! the subs i haver just bought came in a specifically designed enclosure by the manufacturer and although they are only two 10's they perfrom better than my mate's two 15's that are mounted in homemade boxes which wernt thought out at all!
