Dug out my power shifter to have a proper look at how I need to wire it into loom. Should've done it earlier because now I'm thinking that the button controls look quite cool and all I'd need to do is make a bracket to fix onto steering column.

Plus, I'ts already wired into the loom and so is immobiliser.

Been trying to find shift tec just now, but all i can find is the name mentioned on championship super bike spec sheets. Not bad for a free bit of kit slung in when I bought the engine!

But there was a full name address and a telephone number on the brain box, so will try and ring em tommorrow.
I'll let you know tommorrow Clive.

Asked him weather it would down shift under full throttle (ie new person driving and accidentialy hitting the wrong button), he said that on up shifting under fun throttle it cutts the Ignition so allows the dogs in the box enough time to disengauge and change gear, But the down shift does not cut the ignition and if you pressed it accidentaly when mean to go up the dogs hold it in gear. Means I can let the wife drive it on the track (Hope she doesn't see this post)

Shift tec unit has, what I have coined, "a numpty switch", that turns off the whole unit if I ever loose my marbles and let a friend drive it.

Also been told that my cage has now been anodised. Went for black as it will go with whatever colour re-spray the future holds.
So should have my kit delivered in a couple of weeks.
Which will be Perfect timing.

I have also been looking into superchargers for next year.
Not a fan of turbos, purely because I'm lazy and hate having to re-build anything.

I've found a couple of options, one in particular that is nitrous fed! Hopefully you can turn the nitrous feed off tho, otherwise the ride to work could turn out pretty expensive.

220bhp and optional nitrous for mini vs beetles events sounds pretty good.

And when people ask I can still insist that it's a 998cc.

Nope it isn't hiding. I took the plunge and did my first ever engine removal today.
Aren't I clever

But, didn't go with out the usual hiccips.
Pic below is of engine neatly tucked away in the only space left in my garage. However getting it there was the problem.
Obviously I had a hoist to get the engine out, but the hoist legs in no way wouldn't fit the gap between the mini on axle stands (unmovable) and my fence.
So then it dawned on me that now I've removed this engine, I've got no one to take it and nowhere to put it. Doh

Luckily I'm a genious (and modest) and placed an old bit of Kitchen work suface I had in the garage on the floor. It had a nice shiny top and the engine slid almost effortlessly across it and to where you see it sitting now. :smartass:

Plus no sooner had I done that, my neighbor popped his head over the fence and it turns out his brother's mate will probably be taking the engine off my hands. Excellent. :)

Look what else turned up today:
Tarox grooved and crossdrilled vented disks for the metro hubs and Green Stuff pads.
so even if my car doesn't go, atleast it will stop.
