Im sure these a choice of 3 reverse manouvres - reverse round a corner, 3 point turn, parallel park, examiner will ask you to do 2 of the 3.

good point, missed that one.

On a side note, i did my first driving test in Florida - literally 10 mins driving around a Wal-Mart car park, emergency stop in the car park, stop at a stop sign, and then park front first in a parking space...test over and a pass certificate. And if by some chance you fail, you dont pay for the test lol.

Always prefer the Bay park over the Emergency stop, Cant think of anything worse than intentionally flinging yourself towards your windscreen!

My instructor told me they do an emergency stop to 1 in 3 people.

I wouldn't advise that.

Just keep calm, get to the test centre early, Just remember, even if you think you failed, keep driving to the desired standard, you never know. I made sure I had a full stomach, set everything in the car excactly how I wanted and just tried to keep calm.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Best of luck... I had a test last week and was petrified but once i got going the examiner was really nice, unfortunately i made a stupid mistake and failed but there is no need to be worried, just concentrate and do your best. If you feel up to it, try saying a few things to the examiner, puts you at ease as you drive.

You are asked to do two of the four manoeuvres (emergency stop is not one of these), usually they ask for one parking manoeuvre and one turning exercise. But it could be any of the four. The emergency stop is a possible extra little treat thrown in, my examiner just asked me to stop explained we would be doing it and then we did... you get the picture. I love the spiel they have to give after you have done it (they say we won't be doing that again etc... doesn't mean you have failed, just if they shout stop at you again, they mean it!). It is about 1 in 3 people that have to do this, and they won't push for it if it is busy out.

Anyway, best of luck,

p.s. remember to keep looking out of your rear window on the reverse manoeuvres, not just using the mirror and the window only twice!... oops ( that was my test failed!)

I would like to point out that the emergency stop is not a maneuver. They will ask you to do 2 of the above and maybe ask you 2 do an emergency stop. I done 3 tests and only had to do an emergency stop in 1 of them. It will depend on lots of thing like how busy the roads are and how many people are around. My last test 'the one I passed' was bang in the middle of the school pick up so all the roads were busy and full of parked cars and kids running around so it was to dangerous to do one.

Anyway good luck mate. Remember if you don't pass it doesn't matter. All the cool people pass 3rd time anyway. :dontgetit:

O yes I also forgot to add they may also make you do a hill start but like the emergency stop this is not a definite.
