I was thinking allong the lines of a sock filter, or a after market one like u have in that lil gap where the silicon hose ends. Not sure from the picture how much (or little) space there is though.

Just looking at your clutch cylender, is that a clutch specific one, or is it a brake/ clutch? and where did you get it from? Could be perfect for what im after.

There really aint much room down there Chris, if I'm lucky I can squeeze in a ham sandwich, put any cheese in it and then it becomes a no no

Master cylinder is an AP 14 mm one, bought from here CLICK IF ITS PAYDAY part no' CP2623-88PRT115, check out the AP website, I think its got all the external measurements etc

Posted Image

I got a threaded clevis from Rally design so its fits nicely with the above master cylinder and mini pedal

Posted Image

Cut down the end of the thread as a bit too long and put the clevis on

Posted Image

Got some hoses done by Speedflow to make sure I had enough clearance

Its all documented already........

Great build really like the idea of a completely standard looking mini been that fast. Any plans on doing the round nose? Also how much do you think you've spent on the build so far? and finally you could probably hang the camera out of the bar the goes form the mirror to the screen using something like ram mounts

Nice idea on the bar mount from the mirror, will look into it, only problem is my camera is a hand-held jobbie so its not the most compact......I might just end up cutting into the dash as most trackdays now state fixed or mounted and no suckers allowed, really don't want to ruin the dash though.....we'll see

Cost? I budgeted 5k going in blind, have spent £6.2k to date, very pleased as I've seen others budget 5k and spent 10k+, could be done in alot less or alot more, everyones ideas differ and nothing goes smoothly during the build, if anyone says otherwise they are talking out of there pie hole, main thing is to keep your head up and just crack on, results will speak for themselves in the end - see later

And yes I am going standard length roundnose, but not yet, car is almost done cosmetically and its usable so would be silly to do it now, I'm gonna enjoy it as it is for the time being, plus the girlfriend wouldn't put up with anymore being spent on it she hates it as it is as it scares her (or it could be my driving I don't know) I made her a deal from the very start that when the car is usable on the road with a look that does not embarrass itself that would be the time to stop spending, deals a deal  so the jenvey throttle bodies will have to wait now.....

It still amazes me how things happen for a reason during this build!

4pm and I'm sitting here thinking I'll give the guys at the rolling road a call to see if they can fit me in some time next week as I got a few days off work, called up Track n Road and Steve says "Actually, what you doing now? Pop it down now if you want!"

:o :o :o :o :o :o

You don't need to ask me twice Sir!

Posted Image

Couldn't believe it! :teehee: Also I was feeling cocky, very cocky, very very cocky, I thought after the last two tries the cv boot gaitors would hold on this time with the steel bands and more importantly the tigerseal bead around it.........

They still needed to finish off the map as obviously the last time the cv boots popped off, cambelt fiasco, vtec not engaging - please read through previously as I'm not gonna repeat it here what happened then, its all documented, so after some more mapping sorted out they said its time to go for it....again!

Nuff said really!

Drove home with a constant grin, pulls a bit better now the mappings complete, vtecs on song etc etc, not bad for an ebay jobbie engine with 63k on it!

Won't lie to you, absolutely love this car now, build has been up and down but I always knew I would get to this point at some stage - just didn't expect a hoooooge grin on my face :D

Great to hear that you finally got the engine sorted. Was the max speed really that high???? If so little wonder you snapped your speedo cable. Loved your videos on the road. See you soon and next time you need to take me out for a spin. Also you have a PM.

Cheers Tom, appreciated

Track n Road over the bridge Clicky Probably the best in the country for DTA, actually for anything as it goes as mentioned on umpteen forums

Whats going on with your clubby? Did you sell it in the end?

I reckon this might make an appearance at the 'ring this weekend, I'll decide on friday! I don't even care if its a washout (or fog out!) hell, beats driving down the road!

Its higher!

Max speed is 168mph or something with my final drive, but on the road with aero-dynamics they reckon it'll hit 140mph BUT as I'm using the standard mini rev counter I've been warned it may snap after 8000rpm so its capped at 8000rpm, seriously Martin things get scary after a ton with all the shaking and god knows whats going on around it

Also theres a little voice in the back of my head that says "Just remember mate, you put this car together with your halfords pro socket set!" Voices are good people!

I'm not getting an aftermarket rev counter either, its gotta stay standard, theres nothing I can't do at 8250rpm or beyond that I can't do at 7900rpm

Life's a baaitach!

Nice one thanks for the link, looks like a good place.

Yep iv still got the clubby, it didnt get the money i was after so its going to just sit on my drive lol.

Im off to Austria at the end of the month for 6 months so when i get back i plan to get it all fineshed and put in on the rollers.

Iv get a set of R1 carbs and have started to make a manifold for it now which is 3/4 done, so hopefully they will be able to tune the r1 carbs on the rollers and im sure they will easily be able to handle magajolt lol.

Ill give them a call when im back from Austria and see what they can do for me.

I think i read on facebook dave (mighty_mini) is off to the ring on wed, so you might bump into him.

Looking good Kam
Ill get you some air freshener for Christmas, gonna need it if you taking passengers out

Weirdly, that the master cylinder i was looking at on demon tweeks, but looks nothing like it in their picture. If i were to get that and a bias valve, it works out quite a bit cheaper than fitting new mini items

I'm sure its available elsewhere, I just went by the link gave to me over on 16v, also the costs go out of window when you just want something there and then as its holding up your build, well to me anyway as I hate hold ups, I want everything done and dusted yesterday

I know people get smellies at xmas but c'mon!

And I'm looking into your idea of mounting the filter right up against the inlet, will be tight so will look into it more, currently its sitting in the wing and there seems to be alot rain about lately......

Speaking of sock filters.......socks for xmas  hmmm......

Glad you still got it, its easy for people to let something go at silly prices as they get put in a situation, hopefully you can get it on the road when you get back, and yeah thats kids stuff for them lot to sort out

Dave will have to look out for me as I can't keep track of what he drives nowdays....

Hope you have a good time in austria aswell, its almost near germini, can you ski the 'ring?

Thats money really well spent I think you've sold me on a vtec conversion for my next mini project (which judging by my current mini is a long way off) also another way to mount a camera would be to get a spare headrest and modify it so the camera sits on it should get past scrutineers but obviously only works when your on your own in the car
