Modified Mini Insurance?

Hi just wondering how much people pay for mini insurance.. i am asking this as im wanting to do a 2.0 8v conversion in my clubby but now worried that if i tell dvla about it and insurance (which ill have to) that ill get ripped. Can anyone whos put another type of engine in there mini tell me how much they pay and who they are with/ whos good to go with...

im 21 with a 1979 clubby estate with a 2.0 8v vauxhall engine.... anybody got a guess?? baring in mind i pay £500 now..lol

that's really good that..
i'm over 25 and i pay £250 for an unmodified 998 A+ (bar stage 1kit)

Just as a comaprison, my brothers Mk5 cortina has a 5L Mustang v8 and thats £200 with AF. And hes 24

The best thing to do is look at the insurance topic on this forum.... make a shortlist of potential insurers, and give them all a ring for a quote. It's pretty much a waste of time asking people what they pay, because various factors personal to you will affect your premium. You could find yourself paying half or double what the next guy pays purely on your postcode

As a guide if I moved to rural Cornwall my car insurance would half in cost

Oh and try footman james, they're usually the cheapest

I'm with Adrian Flux - £800 fully comp, limited mileage, 21, no NCB, rollcage, harnesses, 1310cc 90 BHP etc. Tad on the expensive side but it should drop quite a bit when it comes to renewal.

theres 1 person on there with a mini to my spec and he said he paid 630 with mini world fully comp and hes 21 with no claims but that was posted 3 years ago..lol

Im 23 with 4 points, a cd10, a sp30 and a 2 week ban in the last 3 years. Mini is 1380 everything is modded apart from rollcage. Agreed value of 5k, 3k miles a year fully comp. £130 with HIC which is partnered with flux.

im 18, been driving just under a year, my daily drive is a 1330 mayfair, mods declared are : 1330 engine upgrade, uprated camshaft, performance exhaust, brake modifications, alloy wheels, interior changes, my insurance is £1250 ish with footman james, fully comp
