Thats more than slightly odd...when i'm driving, in my head i pretend that Minty can fly and i make him fly over all the bits of the road with a shadow accross it, like a computer game!
Altho it could be worse, you could have missed out the bit about you pretending.
I know, the worst part is when i land on a bit of shadow and get visibly annoyed, full on sighs and sinking shoulders, and then have to explain to passengers that 'it's nothing really, i just landed minty too early and he hit the shadow'

Even though since setting off you haven't used the handbrake since???
I drove for 10minutes with the handbrake on and hit 50mph easily. Time for a tighten on Minty's handbrake? I think so.

Oh yeah, always do that. Developed from my 1st car (mini Chelsea) having a temperament of the rears sticking on slightly, kept thinking it was still on the 1st click, turned out to be rusty rear HB quarters

If I am working on it and I want to nip inside to get a cup of tea

You can't be too carefull these days!
Everyone shouts at me now because when I leave my Mini parked up somewhere, I have to go back to it after about half an hour just to make sure that no one has damaged it and that it's still locked up!
I hope every other Mini driver does this
