i think they look quite nice, but that is until some low life realises it takes seconds to take the grill off.... then its bye bye grill!!! a mate of mine had his grill stolen like this, they even left the grill buttons on the floor in front of the mini...... might not of been to there taste lol

They do make your grill easy to nick. I'm ok with mine though, cause you still need a spanner to tilt the spotlights out of the way...

There are two types -
1. a bolt is bolted to the car - hole drilled through the grille backing and the grill slips onto the bolts then the 'buttons' are the nut that screws on to tighten it up.

2. Similar - but... the button has a section that pushes on the back of the grill and tightens on that instead of doing up against the grill slats. This version doesnt bend the grill. - I got these from Huddersfield Mini spares http://www.minispare...mp;prod_id=2291

There's one option for grille buttons that I used for many years.
I've attached an M 8 (~1/3") bolt to the shell. The bolt was drilled and a M5 (~3/16) thread was cut.
Through the grille, I've put an allen key M5 bolt, screwed into the M 8 bolt.

The result is a quick release grille (not as quick as the buttons and you still need tools) using a nearly invisible mechanism.

I've documented this on my webpage, unfortunatelly, it's in german. So I've tried google to translate it.

I gave up with screws years ago, the grill on the 25 is held on with cable ties Lol

Although for the Mayfair project I had some rocker cover t-bars spare which, as they were the cheap variety had the wrong thread, so I re-used them instead of the buttons to hold the grill in place.
