Huey had them years ago and I will put them back on when he is being mended.
I found them great for getting to the front of the engine bay & cleaning the grille.
They don't show up too much if they're the right colour IMHO
EDIT OK, silver would be better

I have them on mine. I don think they look to bad. Athough my front end is very rusty so the whole font of my car looks ugly at the moment.

I've never thought they were that bad, they're only there to make it slightly easier to whip the grille off after all ;) . Heres mine on Joey!

Personally i like the practicality that grille buttons provide, but i think they are abit too big and bulky.

My simple solution:

Posted Image

A bolt with a length of rubber hose, then slide the grille on, put on a metal tubular sleeve (painted black) and a 10mm nut to tighten. Maybe not quite as quick to remove as grille buttons as you need a 10mm spanner, but alot quicker that removing all the screws and is out of sight (just above each overrider):

edit: I also riveted the surrounds to the main grille body to make it one peice.

bonnets on springs, so dont need to attach to the slam pannel.

slam pannle i made out of aluminium angle section, riv nuts in the body work and bolted in, simples...not fully removable as iv zip tied cables to the ally section

Have you made any modifications to the sub frame mounts or anything, surely there is allot more flex in that setup than normal? (im assuming its not a flip front)

I had never thought they looked ugly on my car, maybe they do suit the older grilles more. They are defiantely good for oil changes, points, etc
