Have a look at your Air Filter, I've known them collapsing if they get really dirty and blinded?

Ok this is a lot for me to take in hehe..
The carb isn't a standard carb its a Hif44 I think, was on it when I bought it.. which im guessing doesn't help much.
I will get the boyfriend to read through all this tomorrow and check linkages and pipes etc.
As for the electrics, when i bought the car we were having electrical problems so we replaced the spark plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm and coil and HT Leads, think thats it.
I have a "make shift" weather shield that the person that owned it previously put in but it does its job!

Well you really should replace the contact breaker point and condenser and these will be found inside the distributor cap. They can cause lots of grief if they need adjusting or are worn out.

The HIF44 carb is probably a tad too big for a standard tuned 998cc engine (assuming the engine hasn't been souped up or whatever).

A HIF38 carb might be more suitable?
