reason he would of said send it as gift as there is less chance of paypal taking some form of charge off him.

did you get his number or some other contact details for him?
don't think paypal will be able to do too much either as it was sent as a gift and not for a product

As I mentioned on a different thread if you 'gift' the money to someone you loose your Buyer's rights and the seller has no fees.
Great if you know someone.
Not so great if your being scammed.
Surely you can get their address from your Paypal account, goggle it and give them ring or call round.
Failing that the mods will have their IP address and get you a location from that.
Believe it or not it's hard to hide on the web these days.
Everything leaves a trace.

Please contact Retro 10's via Private Message (PM) and explain in full.

We try to assist in every possible way when something like this happens, but TMF take no responsibility for the transactions between members using the classifieds.

Anyone reading, always try to get as much contact details from the seller/buyer as possible and pay via a secure means. Usually paypal is the best method.

Gifting is usually to avoid paypal fees on the sellers end, but may not give you the appropiate protection in the event of a claim/dispute.

Oh no, good luck getting your money back, took 8 months of pure pestering to get my money back off him. I thought he was banned from selling?

Only send gifts via paypal gift to people you know very well. Otherwise you have absolutly no cover.

I got so annoyed with no having my money off him, I tracked him down too essex minis which is his club, keep ringing him. He will promise to ring you back, but never will, so just keep pestering him. Slander him on essex minis, everyone needs to stop dealing with him. Useless

Yup same guy, he ripped a few people off and took ages to get money back. Wilson1330 had a similar experience. I reported it, unfortunatly theres not alot the mods can do, I even tracked the guy down at MITP and he claimed to have no cash on him, aswell as all of his mates.

Well most people will just create a new account, I know of a kiddy on here who has had around 6 accounts and just keeps ripping people off.
