Hey there,

I was minding my own business on friday morning, as i had the morning off, and was cutting out templates for the minis interior. i was cutting a straight line using a long spirit level to keep the cut clean and strait. At that moment i lost concentration for a split second and the stanley knife caught the edge of the level and the knife had a run in with my left index finger. unfortunately it was a new very sharp blade and my finger came off worse. i managed to cut about 1cm deep through the middle of my finger about an inch long, cutting it right down the middle. Blood was everywhere and repainted the garage floor a nice shade of scarlet red  Was rather funny at the time but had to go to A&E and now its just annoying as i cant do anything with it for a while.

Now i want to know, what injuries or accidents have happened to you that is mini related

No prize for winning injury just the satisfaction of being the biggest plonker on the site :)

Cheers

I almost ran a 13mm drill through my thumb... The thumb was able to escape and my index finger sacrificed itself to save mr. thumb... Luckily mr. right hand index finger had a quick reaction and stopped the drill early so mr. left hand index finger could be saved and survived.

And I worked some knuckels with a grinder. Or knocked myself when bolts went loose. Pocked some screw drivers into my hands... The usual stuff

But the worst was when I burned my middle finger with a soldering-iron. Right at the first joint. I sort of 'fell' on it and couldn't pull my finger away for 1-2 seconds. It hurt so badly that I had to cool it and take pain killers for two days... I've never experienced such a pain before. I had an actuall, real wish to cut it of, that stupid finger!

Ooh me, me. Today I managed to burn my arm on an inspection lamp whilst mending the exhaust on the mini and then as a bonus stabbed myself in the hand with a screwdriver whilst trying to remove the dash board from a 106. I wouldn't mind but the exhaust still hangs down on the mini and the rear heated window still doesn't work on my mums 106!!!

My mate nearly had a bad one yesterday - Using a wire wheel on a grinder to remove the filler/rust combination that calls itself a wheel arch on his VW T25, he caught a bit of garden twine which was dangling off the wing mirror (It had been holding a tarp over the windscreen)

The twine tangles up in the grinder, snatches it out of his hand and pulls it onto his left arm - Luckily he caught the switch as it flew out of his hand and it turned off, so only causes fairly minor injuries, but it shook him up a bit!

Oh, and with the same wire wheel about 10 minutes later, I walk past and have a quick peek as a piece of wire flies off and sticks in my face about 5mm below my eye - It stuck in quite deep! another cm higher and it would have been in my pupil ^_^

^_^ sounds very painful. Ive had a few like that because i make models, and it does hurt. Once i was cuttng some bits from the sprues of a new tamiya kit and slipped, the knife, which happened to have had a new blad just minutes before went straight into the part of my hand between thumb/1st finger, must've been inch in, and it was one of the most painful thing ive ever experienced. I think i may have hit something important because i lost feeling in that hand for a week and had the week of school  But it was bad, i couldnt move any single one of my fingers, they all went together.

it'l feel better in no time matey :)

I was welding and held the torch too far away from the metal, out came a big long piece of welding wire and looking through my helmet decided it needed to get it off, so after the glowing going, I forgot the metal stayed hot ^_^ I got the pliers and pulled , which didnt work so I decided I would use my finger and pull. I had a mark on my finger for about 2 months
