I had removed the guard from the angle grinder so I could get into a tight corner with one of those 1mm cutting disks. You know what's coming, right.
I cut out the metal OK with no damage anywhere. I switched off the angle grinder and as it slowed down I moved my hand cut a grove in my first knuckle. A big wad of tissue stopped in bleeding until my other half got me to the A&E. whilst waiting to get sort it decided to start bleeding again. there was a big pool of blood on the counter. Got it stitched up, home, and back in the garage. Got a plasma cutter now as well.

bit off topic i know but stil funny... im a joiner and seen a few 'mistakes'. my mate i work with nailed himself to a doorframe with a 1st fix paslode using 90mm nails. same guy few wks later then nailed 2 of his fingers together with 2nd fix pas, tho nowt a good tug with some pliers and sticky tape cudnt fix! on a different note, a different mate cut his whole thumb off with a mitre saw, weird thing is he only noticed when his thumb didnt seem to 'work right'!!. dumbest thing ive done is every time i go to change a grinder disc i sometimes hit the on switch to try and lock it, it hasnt got me yet but i still do fairly often! also, ive accidently routered my 2 main fingers a few times while doing delicate work. finally, i shot myself with a .177 pistol straight thru the palm of my left hand. 2 months later i finally went to my docs to get it removed as it started moving down my fingers. it was an accident mind as i went to put the safety on! on a down hill bike i lost a good chunk of my arm, which covered my bn forks in blood, i was gutted as i had to spend hours cleaning them

Had a mate younger than me over the road with a rover 216 it was a very hot day he had no idea about cars poor lad he told me he was going to clean it fine when i looked out the window all wheels of on the road on what looked like sticks for stands then he gets in the car and starts removing the seats for a wash the car dropped on the road of all fours so he gets out ok then he jacks up the car with a big trolly jack under the drivers floor pan woundering why he could no height to start with later in the day he knocks my door telling me the pedals do not go down right to try and drive it

While cutting through endless amounts of zip-ties on the shotty wiring I was removing when tearing everything apart for my rebuild, I was too lazy to step away and grab my wire cutters...using a very sharp knife on one of the zip-ties, I ran cut through the tie, and the force carried the blade into the palm of my left hand. Seeing as it was still very early in the day, I wanted to continue working on the car and not spend hours waiting on docs, so I just super glued it. It happened to line up perfectly with one of the wrinkles in my palm, so you can't even tell if it scarred.

Were do I start Lol I’ve got too many scars to count from the grinder (both cutting disks and wire wheels), drill and welder Lol
Best one tough wasn’t on a mini, but at work, doing something on the rear suspension on an astra, the jack I had under (the car was already on stands) gave way and everything landed on the two middle fingers of my left hand. Smashed the bones in the ends of my fingers into about 8 pieces each, ripped trough one tendon, ripped both nails off and now have one hell of a scar down one finger.

I still can’t use them fully, I really do need to concentrate just to move them and their no longer straight anymore Lol

Nearly 20 years ago I was splitting my front balljoints. I didnt have the scissor type splitter, was using the fork type. I was whacking it as hard as I could with a mallet and managed to belt my thumb instead of the splitter with the mallet against the brake drum.
It instantly doubled in size, within a few days it became gangreenous and STUNK. I nearly lost the thumb to it but anti biotics and a thumbnail amputation sorted it fortunately.

I sliced through my little finger with a piece of metal on christmas eve last year. Nearly cut my finger off, cut through all the tendons etc & was operated on christmas day. Have to say last christmas wasn't the best christmas I've had, hopefuly this year will be a bit better :shy:

Years ago i was welding up some box section into a 90 degree angle with an oxy torch while in my own little world as usual.Box section was in the vice, finished the weld, turned the torch off, took the gauntlets off turned round and grabbed the box section out of the vice with bare hands.Instant reaction was to shake hand like mad which took most of the skin off the palm.It hurt like mad for days afterwards, healed up well though and can barely see the mark now.

More amusingly the other week i was working on the cage under the dash while kneeling on all fours.Started to back up into a standing position and the seam on the door frame where the seal would normally be jammed itself right into the nape of my arse at the top.Didnt half sting, felt such a helmet!

Also I can't count the number of times I've spun the back wheel of a mini & smashed my hand on the swinging arm. I'll never learn that my hand doesn't fit.
