Diesel Engine

I've been looking into engine conversions alot recently and it just struck me as odd that I've never come across a diesel engined classic mini, none at shows and i've not seen one on here either..
I've never owned a diesel car before so I don't know much about them to be honest, except there pretty big/heavy, noisy and don't like to rev much past 5000rpm.
What engines fit?
Advantages?
Disadvantage?
I'm thinking a vauxhall diesel engine would be a good place to start? out of a corsa perhaps?

You missed the obvious advantage of fantastic fuel economy!

There is a chap who's done this conversion with a van I think he had to graft the metro floorpan into the mini to get it to work.
And there's another guy doing a GM diesel. so it is very do-able.

You'd probs get about 60 MPG combined cycle in a mini
I get 61 mpg in the metro at the moment.
hmm yes it seems that way then lol!
Mmm so it would seem. PM me a real price and I'll think about hawking my soul...
