My car when it was a 1000 had a swan neck and a 40 webber, and an lcb and big exhaust, but otherwise standard. It would happily do 140kmh, sometimes more, and went well up steep hills ok. My wifes standard 1000 struggles to 130, and is way slower up hills. You can't tell me the swan neck is that bad. Sure for maximum power a long straight manifold will be better, but it did a pretty good job for me. They are heaps louder tho.

Some bad press around here... Fit a weber normally means a weber box. The only manifold you can run without one is a swan neck. And they are very poor, it's like downgrading to a lesser SU. there is no point!

what about a down draft webber ? no bulkhead box needed and no swan neck manifold + no BIVA test

But they (talking about the IDA webers) are very hard to set up, and are only for performance use. The 28/38 (I think?) would be good but manifolds are not made anymore
