There is a maximum loan, and you will be getting the minimum I would have thought. I'm pretty sure any household income over £50000 means you get the minimum. I can't remember what exactly I'm getting, but its so little that my Father has to help out just to allow me to pay rent.
How are you expecting to need £10000 a year?? I went to interviews at Oxford's Merton college and only needed that type of money if I was to be staying in one of their original college houses!

Well the fees are like £3,300 a year
My accomidation for first year for uni's I looking at is circa £100ish a week on 44 week contracts so that is £4,400
Total = £7,700
Then that leaves £2,300/52 gives me £44 a week for food and to go out which sounds about right to be honest
And that is before travel costs etc...
Going to be circa 10k quite easilly when look at the numbers
So looking can borrow 6/7k max a year so will need to make sure get transfered over to local sainsburys so can carry on briging in 4/5k a year or I will be pretty knackered to be honest lool

Fee and accommodation is fair enough (I had to choose a cheaper accommodation since the loan I get is so small I couldn't afford most and Exeter is fairly expensive anyway!), but you don't need to be budgeting for 52 weeks of going out and food surely! At Exeter my terms in total amount to about 30 weeks. If you wanted about £50 a week that would make £1500. If your clever with shopping you can spend tiny amounts, generally mine is less than £15 a week. The fees are generally fixed, you WILL get a loan to pay them. Its the maintenance loan you need to worry about. My household income is over 100k which means I get barely enough to pay simple rent. My father won't pay my way (I'm a big boy now

Yeah fair enough that trouble we pretty well of but not amazing found properly and out combined income is 78,000 a year so to be honest going to be in a similar boat to you dad could pay for some but to be honest still has a morgage to pay and dont want him wasting his retirment fun funds on my expences.....
Need to get transfered over to a nearby sainsburys I hope or may be some problems... if I do get to keep my discount as well though so good times on the food budget
