the scuttle isnt painted yet as i am waiting for the grey to harden enough for me to flat it back and paint the black on the pillars down to the bottom body line i am aiming for it to look like the attached picture

have been workin this weekend on getting the seats and interior in

Noticed you made the subframe for engine conversion, did you use any plans? if so where did you get them from? Im about to start a X16XE engine conversion soon and I really dont wanner have to spend the £600 to buy one.

as far as i know there are no plans a friend made mine for me but anyone with decent skills should be able to make you a frame. the best thing you should do is to get the engine roughly where you want it and build the frame arround it this is basically how mine was made

i have made up carbon pannels and put all new toggle switches and led lights for each switch

i have also been rebuilding my engine and is now ready to go in (and will be as soon as my rear subframe is built back up.

i have also wired up my rear lights and have fitted stainless rear fog light and a spot light (soon to be changes for a proper boot mounted reverse light)

and have bought the material to re trim my seats i have some black vinyl and grey Alcantara with orange piping to match my exterior colour scheme.

Yeh I bet, I wasnt to sure when i first resprayed my mini but once I went thru the rebuild I liked it a lot more and was so glad I had done it all myself :thumbsup:

hi everone i have finally got the rear frame painted and while i was at it i painted the tank

i pulled the mini out into the daylight after i fitted the tank to get the benifit of the colour and took some pics

then today i have spent skinning the doors and playing about with the passenger door trying to get it to fit and realised me being a :thumbsup: we had put the apannel on without checking the shut line with the door :oops: :?
so had to grind the freshly painted a pannel off and start again lol :oops:

only joking being serious now i have changes the colour scheme slightly im now doing it totally grey with just black roof instead of the black down to the swage line.

wow I was just going to say how bad is it that you were selling it lol. Im thinking of doing my roof and pillars again tho to make my car look a bit more of a retro racer

well got the engine in tonight was a little tricky and i might need to change my rubber mounts over as the ones i have make the engine sit a little high :)

anyway here are the pics

no room for the belt to go on so the engine needs to move over about an inch and a half

and it sits to high here and hits the frame
