started the under bonnet clean up this week its got a long way to go before being any where near show condition.
fitted new altinator which is good as it now starts and the wipers work a benifit in the rain.
Shinny new wheel nuts went on as well keeping the chrome good on them is a chalange any tips would be good.
Next is the arches not sure which type to fit possible group5 bullet?

Had to change the clocks back to the old ones because the MK1 spedo put in stopped counting miles also my dad said that he didnt like reading the fuel level of the temp guage ( i wired it slightly wrong oops). just been in for mot and failed on discs and fog light but when i got it back the wipers had been broken as well i love garages

I LOVE that dashboard! So simple and smart!

EDIT, how have you secured your flip front without anything externally showing it is a flip front?

i dont know what was going on with the discs i put it through the MOT and it failed on just the fog light and wheel bearing but was away for a few weeks so didnt get it back in for a retest. Then when it went back in it failed on discs too but cant really argue. The front is secured under the scuttle with a bonnet release style clip so it slots in then is released from inside the car and you just pull forward and lift. Its prob not the best way it is a little tricky at times ill post a pic so you can see

Cheers Chris, yeah I'd like a picture if you don't mind.

I really want a fibreglass flip front, might buy some hinges from America if I can afford them but my main goal is to disguise it as much as possible.
Did you get your hinges from America?

hey
here are the pics of how the front end is held in place. it just slides back into the locking mechanism the pin secures in, to release i have a cable pull in the car where the bonnet release usually is. Not sure if this is best. the biggest porblem is stopping the front from flexing and damaging the paint.
