A taxi driver?
rear ended by someone else?
not involving the insurance?

I find that very unlikely indeed. Expect a claim for serious damage to the taxi and a whiplash personal injury claim from its driver.

Very sorry to see this, and glad no one was hurt (nice colour mini, by the way). If you can sort the problem yourself without insurance it means you stay in control and have less to worry about. However, roofless & dave132345345203945230923 speak wisely

take nothing for granted - expect the worst - and celebrate if it doesn't happen

Best of luck.

Sorry to sound negative but I agree with above. If the taxi doesn't claim see it as a bonus.

Also at the risk of being flamed........ If you run into the back of someone, your fault - no argument!

Hope you get it fixed up soon.

i dont think the taxi firm would claim, usually they would but how can a mini doing 5-10mph cause a driver in a mini bus/van whiplash and theres no damage visible in the picture you gave us. but you never no with these corupt taxi firms lol.
i'd play it by ear and see what happens. good luck getting it fixed.

I'd say you've been quite lucky with the damage, if it had been lower you'd be rebuilding most of the front end. The Minibus looks like a one man operation so, I wouldn't be too surprised if he doesn't bother with the hassle of claiming.

Afraid you are stuffed if you run in to the back of someone - it's your responsibility to keep a safe stopping distance.

I think the fact a paramedic was on scene will help get rid of the whiplash ideas to be honest. As he checked everyone was okay and everyone said they were i hit it at such a low speed it would really not be possible to have it to be honest.
Think going to fix it myself could go through insurance but cant see it being worth it even being comp. Taxi service is one I use reguarly so will pop round and see them tomorrow.

whiplash doesn't happen instantly, but i highly doubt he has it, whether he claims or not is a different matter tho

Spoke to taxi office today they are not claiming and seemed quite worried about me claiming for some reason. Going to get the car checked over tomorrow as it still drives okay before think about whether to bother contacting insurance or not. I think probably not going to bother though to be honest

have you declared all the mods as its is more than a little bit stupid to run what look like 13" rims on drums even 12" alloys are a strain for drums you should really look into upgrading your brakes to match you mods as those brakes with big rims is not safe.

Yeah I did have metro 4 pots on lool
I took them off overday and put the drums on as I was waiting on some disks and pads to arrive which came today :/ as I needed to get to work etc... and the pads had worn down far too much
And they are 12" rims

that happened to me you have to watch taxi drivers i ran into the side of one in my curtosy car but the advice i can give is report it to the insurance anyway you dont have to make a claim i would just report the incident so if anything does come of it at least you know the insurance know.

taxi drivers are so dodgy. :)
