what protection do you give buyers and sellers?

What because Ebay protects the buyers and sellers don't they !!!!!!! Not . And then they charge you though the nose for Paypal which doesn't offer much protection either!!!!

I've never had a problem with ebay. I didn't get sent something once and paypal gave me my money back what more could I ask for?
Maybe I was asking to see if they could match or better ebay as protection should be on the top of any buyer or sellers list when using something like this.

Thanks for the reply minimaff

I guess giving protection is hard as its between you and the seller etc, we same as ebay only list your items............... but im sure once we have been doing it for a long time we will learn, same as ebay have over the years..............

Good luck with your venture...

Just one thing tho' until you posted I had heard nothing about it... not being funny but your publicity of the site is fairly poor... do a google on Bidfolk and this thread is third in the list...

From a trader point of view, where is the value in me advertising or selling items on a site where the expected client base is very small, especially compared to ebay which reaches hundreds of millions of people

The site is in testing mode at the moment, until we start marketing the site. I started the post on here to inform members about the new site other than the big one which we all use.............

Every one started somewhere the same as ebay did 12 years ago...........

The benefits of trading with us at the minute are that you can list items with a FREE reserve and FREE auto realist so you can sit back knowing it wont cost you a penny until your item sells. This is obviously to get our site growing and in time it will be a great place to trade.

Yeah cheers for that Chris, have up joined yet?

Get the word out there, my facebook friends know, so if you would be kind enough to let your friends know and so on that would be great.

Our goal is to be like ebay, it may take 12 years like them, but what the hell lets have ago...

We offer movie uploads also, so you can show videos of working things such as a kids quad bike, or rc car etc, this shows the buyer it works lol

Thanks again

Matthew

Once the domain is established, it'll be easier in SEO terms, to market the site - Maybe think about looking at the Google tools - Adwords etc? Delve into the PPC department, too?

How much SEO work have you done on the site? :)

I think it'd be great to have an alternative to eBay, but just make sure that you can offer buyers and sellers all the protection and support that they need - Make sure you can be contacted and don't get too big too quick! Oh, and don't have too many overheads - The thing that puts everyone off eBay is the price - If you can start small and stay that way, then go for it!! ;D

I like the design of the site - it's clean & modern... but, personally, I think the header section could use some work and you really need a very catchy logo.

It won't happen over-night, but I say Go for it! :)

Everyone has to start somewhere!! :)
