I have noticed over the last week weeks that my MPi stutters and "pops"
When going in 3rd or 4th at 2000rpm, there is a very noticable stutter or choking. It feels as if the car is running out of fuel. Above about 2300rpm its completely fine. If i put my foot down whilst it is doing it, it takes a while for it to kick in.
I dont know if this is anything to do with it but also if i go down a hill without touching the throttle you can hear rapid popping coming from the exhaust. Not sure if this is normal or whether it has any link to the above.
Just to add to this topic, is there a gearbox steady anywhere? If so where?
Thanks
Sam

Not sure about the MPI specifically but there are 3 possible locations for gearbox steadies 2 facing rearward and one by the oil drain plug. all are easy to spot and look similar to the engine steady.
Could your running problem be an air leak causing the fuelling to go lean on part throttle?
