Would the No Claims Bonus built up on my bike be valid for No Claims Bonus on a car?
i used to question this considering it's still road going experience (better imo) and have been told by many companys no!,after being on a bike myself for nearly 5 years then using a company van i found it hard explaining my lack of no claims considering my previous driving history .
currently i only have a van insured on a commercial policy and it's gone up this year now £700 tpft even though i have another years no claims?!?,oh and a extra 3 penalty points

It's a pain - you are still clocking up a year of no claims on the road, just not in a car >
SP30?

i know some companys do 'multi car' so could be flexible to where the no claims come from,as for the points yep a sp30 nowhere near a school/houses by a van about 200yrds from a fixed camera! *melons*

go to footman james they gave me a good quote on my 850. but now with a 1275 in there the cheapest i can get is 0ver £1000 im 20 with 2 NCB and only stage one kit and cooper s brakes as mods, dont understand, why its so much more, i dont live in a city either???
Putting a 1275 engine in isnt the same as insuring a 1275 Mini (standard), its seen as being a modification, so therefore bumps up the price loads.has anyone thought about not calling it a "stage 1 kit"??
i mean it just makes it sound like its a racing car even though its only a mini!
why not say it has a new exhaust?
They go on the power increase it should give your Mini (I think its about 8bhp for a stage one on a 998!)
how would the insurance know it gives a power increase?
if you say, "its had a new exhaust"
how are they to know it makes the car go quicker if you dont use "stage 1kit"?? not trying to cause a fight just asking!

i think even if it didnt increase the power a loud exhaust does give a little insight into what type of driver you are, usually loud exhaust = not your normal a to b driver if you get what i mean... thats why its dearer

exagerated, in the same way i could say ''i have a new engine'' ... ''and is it the same capacity sir?'' ... ''yes''
then i have a crash...they have nothing down for engine mods as its only been replaced. but they wonder why i have an R1 engine in the rear view mirror and skid marks indicating well over the capable speed of a standard 998 a-series...sumhow i think that would be insurance fraud. :S

a new exhaust would be implying a replacement, not an upgrade.

Then you just play it cool..
"What Motorbike engine? Can you not see this is clearly a motorcar my good sir?"
