Was just having a nose round the W&P website and came across this!

If i had £25,000 knocking around I'd be sorely tempted!!!

Probably a repost but I thought I might as well.

There was a huge discussion about this when it made it's debut at Bingly Hall last year.
To be honest, £25,000 could of been spent on something a bit more luxurious in my opinion. I own a GT with W&P extras, and back in 1975 they were very fashionable and made it stand out from the rest. I would of liked W&P to have stayed true to their marque and created something with the same kind of passion. I was glad they kept the A-series but with what we know and the tuning that can be done to a a-series engine it would of been nice to see something different.
I'm not completely slating it, I was just very disappointed.

With that said, there are many people who will pay that price for the car, it's clearly a new car, I agree, but I know many people building cars from scratch and would have alot more change to boot.

Can yu not buy a new fiat 500 for £8,000 ?

sacrilege to say, but I think I'd rather have a new Fiat 500 than the W&P.

The profit margin on these cars is absolutely weeny.

Stylistically, I would have expected something a little more trad from the guys at W&P. Not quite my taste, but the price tag fits, I'm afraid.

EDIT: Previous arguments threads here and here.

You could from second hand, knocked off parts & non-genuine/non-heritage bits & pieces, yes.

Many people tend to forget there are hours of labour to be paid for (handbuilt), low volumes so no major discounts on new parts and at the end of the day business overheads, profit margins and some sort of future warranty costs to be covered............

Im with Juju on this, yes £25K is a lot, but I bet once they've bought all the bits and spent hours putting them together, they wont be making much. People tend to think peoples time is free.

Yeah, you can get a new Fiat 500, for 8K, but at the end of the day theyre making loads and loads using machines on a production line. Not 50 handbuilt ones made by a small business.

Mini W&P 50 or £25k of modern sports car...

I know which dealer I'd be off to! And that certainly wouldn't be W&P's. Rather have a £5k SportPack and spend the rest of the money on, well something else!

Doesn't make a lot of sense, but to those who buy it they certainly will have an iconic car!

Dan :(
