so what are peoples opinions ? ive heard some people say that non mini colours spoil them and make them not a true Mini !
im not going for asbo orange, or even kawasaki green

im going for a classic colour, which is ford lagoon blue from the old mark 1 cortina super 1500 gt
and also ermine white from the lotus twin cam cortina look awsome together will upload pictures when i am home and not at work

Well you obviously like them and can deal with them not being mini colours, so go for it!

Yes I prefer proper mini colours but im sure any older pastel shades of blue or white etc will look right, a lot of people wont even know the difference. Focus orange Kawa green etc are a bit more response provoking... :dozing:

I think they can look awesome, providing the money spent has paid for a decent job, so it look prestine, no drips etc. :dozing:

I know someone with a mini that's he's had sprayed Subaru Blue, and it looks fantastic! :dozing:

Were going for Mazda Classic Red as a substitute for Mini Tartan red as its readily available and is very close in colour match.

The parts i have sprayed up so far look good so hopefully the overall respray will be good. We shall see!!!

she is going to look pretty standard on the exterior, colours as stated, mk1 grill, lowered on 10's front and rear anti roll bar's mk1 external hindges possibly an external sun shade(depends if im please with her the way she is ), need someone to edit a picture for me, i will try tonight when i get in to photoshop what i want, although i will probely fail quite badly.

proberly 10" wheels but i have heard that the mess up your gearbox with a 1275 ?? dont know how true this is but i thought i would ask the question. but either mini lite's or the image 10" both look awsome, but i do have some old mk 1 cooper wheels i may paint in ermine white to match the roof and have the centre caps chromed :)

inside im hoping for some sort of classic bucket seats that offer a good support i like the look of the classic cobras but they offer me no support on my top, i want classic lookin bucket seats that will actually hold me in place when i chuck the lil bugga around corners. standard looking pod except using asphalts design of the 2 10mm dials(tacho and speedo) in the centre pod with 2 52mm (oil temp & water temp), Omp deep dish steering wheel, kad quickshift, couple of other little bits i hope, dont know what i will do about a cd player, dont know if ill bother to be fair lol :) just plug in the head phones on the good old iphone = WIN !

sorry for the Rant i went off topic lol

i love the paint its awsome the paint samples are being made up this weekend, and im picking her up either tonight or saturday morning ........... time shall tell

:) :)

*cough*

Does that rule count if you technically have every mini colour there is….plus a few more in your paintwork?

iv painted a fair few minis one being subaru blue which did look good, anything blue and white looks good, what i would say is i try to pick out colours which are very simple to original like brg but a different varient from house of colour with a candy so you still get the classic look with a touch of custom but not too garish, one thing to think about is how the paint sits on different surface areas ie wings and bonnet where quite curved, painted a clubman for a guy which was honda supersonic blue and in the tin it looked a real nice mettalic deep blue but when it hit the light, it looked purple, ladies would have loved it but a 30 year old male, just didnt work, anyway dont buy the classic buckets although they look good they are so uncomfortable, RECAROS ALL THE WAY!!!!!

see i dont think recaro's are that comfortable my mate raves on about them in his honda and to be fair on long journeys i get a sore ass the most comfortable buckets i have been in are OMP seats in my mates evo and they are comfy and support really well ! but ideally i would like to still to a classic looking seat to match the entire car

SPAFE!

In my opinion I prefer early mini's (Mk1.2 and 3's) in standard colours.

But later more widespread models some of the custom colours choosen look great.
