Adrian Flux get most recommendations - one or two negative comments but no reasons given? It sounds like they are easy to deal with.

they are useless!! i got a quote from them years ago for a mkII escort, when i told them it had a cage in the quote DOUBLED!!
tried them for quote about ten years ago on an imported soarer, never took the policy out and about a week or two later i started to get threatening letters from them saying i owed them money for the policy i never took out.

have spoken to dozens of people over the years who've had a nightmare when they have had to claim on one of their policys.

if they are still taking on new business you want to get cover with AON. premium is based on the value you give them, the cover is fantastic, tools in the car, parts in a secure garage and i know of people who've been paid out from them wthin about ten days.

and the best bit, when you stick a k series head on a mini block your premium doesn't go up as they don't class it as an engine swap!!

I have had one of my Mini's with Adrian Flux for the last 3 or so years,.. started off with just Wheels and arches on the modifications list,.. have since added bucket seats, harnesses, light clusters, dashboard 4 pot brakes and Full Roll cage,... all for NO increase in my policy what so ever! (from the word go they have told me none performance enhancing mods dont affect your policy,.. so far for me this has been 100% true) The only thing which increased my policy slightly was the modifications I have done to the engine, but at 23 that is understandable and even so it is by no means breaking my bank account.

I think the thing with insurance companies is that people have different experiences with them and if people have a bad experience they avoid them which is understandable.

I think the best thing to do is ring around for the best quote for your car, see what they want you to do for Agreed Value (may be filling out their form and sending photos or getting an independent valuation certificate by someone like the British Mini Club - details are on their website) and then when you get the policy read it through and read through all of the small print,.. if there is something you find you dont like you can question it or use the cooling off period to cancel your policy

I would strongly recommend Lancaster for this, I have an agreed valuation with them. The National Mini Owners Club assess the valuations. Be sure to give them a call and see what they can do.

I sent 6 pictures and a tenner to Adrian Flux, told them what I thought it was worth (£4.5k) and they agreed instantly, no quibbles.

I'm looking to get an agreed value in a couple months when my insurance is due... Do the prices per month/year change dramatically or they pretty fair for the value you want...

No idea, I've never had insurance on a mini without agreed value so couldn't comment!

Im with Footman James and have an agreed value, Ive never had to make a claim, so dont know how they are to deal with?

You can send pictures to the British Mini Club and they will value your Mini for you and then most insurers will accept this. Theres details about it on the British Mini Club website. Ill be doing this once Ive ha a bit of work carried out on my Mini!

I've always been insured with Lancaster Insurance who've always been the cheapest from me. They charge £15 a year for the agreed value bit.
