Do people usually leave the flanges on the box...and also are they mounted in the centre of the bulkhead or off to one side??

Central to the carb. Slightly offset.

Cheers mate thought it was...any idea how much slightly is as I've got the engine out to do all the bay work at the minute so no carb to line it up against!

have you read the topic about modifying your bulkhead will lose the cars identity and result in it needing an IVA test and ending up on a Q plate ?
