i had one of those in my car! It was good if you just want to listen to your iPod but i wanted the radio as well so rewired my headunit in. It is only a very small amp so it is only around liek 7w or 10w RMS. Good if you dont want it amazingly loud but saying that it was quite loud for such a small amp. Only thing is it takes around 3 weeks to come.

To wire it in i just cut an old tranformer wire off, was like one for an old scaletrics or something. Then my car had a 12v socket in it so i used the wires off that but i think that it just a live feed from the fuse box and an earth. And you just need an AUX cable.

Here is a picture of mine in my car, bad focus but you can get the idea.

Yea was prob as loud as a standard headunit. Speakers would prob make a big differance, i was only using standard rover ones. I now have 6x9's and a head unit

that red one has a FM radio on it too and by the looks of it the option for a cd changer to be added.

could you run a larger amp in the car to help boost up some good speakers? i love the idea of having a radio and Ipod my mini van without having the big hole in the dash for a cd unit.

i have a unit which instead of running phoneo leads to the cd unit it comes off the speakers left rear and right rear. Had this in my 172 clio many many .... many years ago and worked well. so i spose i could tap the amp onto the speakers in the mini and still use the small thing what ever there called above.

does any of that even make sence? lol Its been a long day

best idea would be to run it to an equalizer and then back to an amp in the boot

will probably do this myself so that i can get quadrophonic capabilitys

Hi posted the same question on another forum, and apparently the parrot 9000 / 9100 will do the job just fine and it also charges and has bluetooth for handsfree calling

Do you need a head unit with these parrot systems or do the speakers wire straight into this?

not being funny, but i know if i was in my car with any hands free, my car is all people would hear

also, my dad has just ordered one of each colour one for his car and one for my mums, so they can use the ipods (that they need to get now) in the car
i think he went for that package with those speakers, should be ample in his mk 1

re: head unit apparently not, sounds ideal doesn't it, about 20w amp built in, but then why not wire in a bigger amp for much louder music?

I for one will give it go

Andy

heres the link for the pdf manual for wiring etc parrot 9100 wiring

Im liking the parrot idea simple and prob loud enough really for what i want, would all minis from say 80's have the ISO connectors you need for this system?
