As recommended in another thread here we will be taking out agreed value cover as well.
Although the Cooper is unmodified and shows up on most insurers' radar as a Rover, we prefer to stick with A Flux. But we may end up with Saga yet, which will please Bungle.
Next job is to meet the guys at "our" workshop who have worked on Huey and Rocky to make a list of jobs with priorities.
My guess is 2 new tyres to replace the tired (sorry) Potenzas on the front. The Yoko A539s on the back are good. Plus sorting out the rusty bits: the rear subframe may need some attention and the history shows a few troubles with intermittent high revving and uneven running which is brought up quite a lot in the mpi/spi section here. And he has never been waxoyled

Everything where it should be in the boot (battery cover removed -- torn but ok). Original bit of felt there, dry & good

Here we go ... won't bother with all the rusty bubbles around the windscreen and under the headlamps (see more here,)
but agreeably sursprised to find none around the roof or aft of the doors, which are good and solid with drain holes clear.

Just love the seats -- mm, leather

Style in the details ... motif and stitching on the brushed-felt manual cover

Does anyone remember this recall in '01?

Mrs T told a neighbour that mpi stands for multipoint injection. This is the motoring equivalent of Saul's conversion on the road to Damascus. She now knows more than I do (not difficult).
Last night she had her first mini dream, in which she was driving through some pretty villages when she met a small flood, and drove into it slowly keeping the engine speed up, but then woke up in a panic before she got to the other side

whereas this discoloured dash veneer isn't

and neither is the damp wheelarch and carpet beneath
the windscreen has probably got to come out anyway to investigate the extent of the rust spots along the screen seal so it can
all be done together. I expect at least to take the front seats and carpets out for drying and on Monday at the garage Rocky
will be up on the hoist for a good explore underneath.

*waves like a div at her montior*
You look gorgeous.
Mr & Mrs Pot are very lucky new parents indeed.
Doesn't matter if you're a bit damp & crumbly in the corners. We all dribble & fall apart after a while.

Hmm, the bonnet doesn't fit. Apparently the bodyshop man said there was "a bit of play in it." Which means "I'm not refitting that
for the price I quoted." Fair enough. Time is money.
The badges have been removed from the rear quarters, leaving a raised edge. I wonder why?

I need Huey back to carry all the allotment stuff! Rocky is a street kid. He likes hanging out on the block. He doesn't do compost bags and beanpoles.
But we love him. Mrs T says he's the first car she's ever had with a character.
