just been playing the insurance game and fould out i could buy and run this for the price of buying and running 2 minis very very tempting. does any one else spend time looking at other makes of classic car and see what you could have for what you spend on there mini. does any one else have a automotive mistress you would love to spend time with behind your minis back.

i would convert to lpg they say they do 15mpg in town and 20mpg on the go so on lpg would be close to the cost of what my heavily tuned mini does

did a game last night with my spanish friend, for him to be insured on his car he has in spain, it would cost £6,600 fully comp, for my mini it would be £1660 TPFT, the car he uses in spain is a 2008 registered in 2009 BMW 330 (E90) M sport! and my mini is a 1.3 litre with a few body mods theres a £25000 difference in the values of the cars too! For what they are, minis are expensive to insure!

well i have 2 mini insured in my name at a combined cost of around £700 a year so why not just have one big beast of a car that costs slightly more to insure but you save on service costs and get free road tax.

Yes Sleeper your car want is a good one and at 26 age is good. Try to buy a secound hand built one. Many older men build them then sell them on cheap for there next big toy. One of my older retired mates buys and sells interesting cars for his hobby. One he picked up a few years ago was a classic ford pop V8 All still metal no fibre front. Jag axle etc. Big back wheels Top hand made inside and seats wood dash loads of clocks ace black paint work.Good for the road and the quarter mile sport. I missed the buy thinking it would be a reck. Did turn up late and see what i had just missed for £1,300 cash.Even a few years later sad about that . He did then find me the C.Hollier Mini lump full spec in the rear 2 seater green lane and road car. Hope you can find a bargain prices are real low on big cars these days.

Yu don't pay for the 2nd insurance!!!

Yu know yu will never sell the mini, yur getting bored! When the mini is on the road yu'll be super happy!
Also yu know the trouble yu had with parking the scooby down yur road, yu'll never have to room to park that beast.

Although I would have to say It is a very very very yummy car!!!

Dang....you guys have some CRAZY insurance companies here. When we were still in the states I had my old '99 Mustang GT insured FULL coverage through USAA and it only cost us roughly $936 per year. That is approx 592 pounds. And it was a 5 Speed, 320 Horse V8, with shorty headers, full stainless flowmaster catback exhaust (H Pipe), 17x8" wheels, BBK Cold Air Intake, and EXTREMELY dark window tint....you couldn't even see me inside the car if my face was pressed up against the glass!

I'd also like to mention that it was $78 per month for not just the Mustang....we also had a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee (5.2L V8), and a 2004 Pontiac Vibe all through the same company. We got discounts for being married, then we got a discount for having multiple vehicles, and then we got a discount for having a baby. Then we got another discount when my wife turned 25. Also, the insurance rates get a little cheaper for us every time she "ranks up" within the Military.
